Logging secrets
Tuesday, 13th October, 2009

Many of our customers use a LogDepot system to log meetings. This system is also applied for publishing purposes. This is done by using two audio input channels, one for logging the meeting and the other for publishing it. This latter audio input channel can be switched off to prevent publishing classified information.

BBC Newsgate
Tuesday, 22nd September, 2009

BBC World Service uses Newsgate for reporters to send their contributions to its London headquatres. Arbor's Pulling and Polling ftp client is applied to retrieve the uploaded files from NewsGate and create an XML-File to import the file into Jutel RadioMan.

Synchronize
NewsGate was installed on the recently released Debian ‘lenny’ and on two servers located on different network backbones which are geographically apart. An automatic file system and MySql replication was installed to synchronize both servers. The hosting provider takes care of 24/7 monitoring and support.

Improved
Because of the large number of users, the NewsGate user management has been improved to split the user list over a number of pages, apart from this a search function was implemented. It is now also possible for users to change their own password.

Instant Access Service improved
Wednesday, 2nd September, 2009

Recently Arbor improved the Instant Access Service for its LogDepot Video system. Now the archive can be viewed close to real-time with only a 30 seconds delay. To accomplish this, the media is stored as a high quality MPEG transport stream.

Direct access
The contents of the semi-live stream can be viewed in the familiar LogDepot web-client, with full direct access to the complete archive as usual. When the client is opened, it will immediately start playing from the most recent media available. The new Instant Access Service requires the installation of the LogDepot HiQ Playback Support on the system it is viewed on.
